Embrace Your Impact: Collaborations of Passion, Knowledge, and Action
Friday, March 6, 2020
Hilbert College | Hamburg, NY
How can we utilize our passions to better collaborate and make an impact in the community?
What is the depth of the passion, knowledge, and action that goes into creating a mutually-beneficial experience in the community?
How can colleges and universities design initiatives to ensure their community impact is positive and collaborative?
During our half-day symposium we will develop a multi-answer response to the outlined questions, among others, related to embracing the impact that collaborations in the service-learning and community engagement field can bring about. As a result of strong collaborations, passion, knowledge sharing, and action service learning and community engagement initiatives can address and meet challenges faced by our neighbors in the Buffalo and WNY community.
The WNYSLC is also thrilled to welcome back Marisol Morales to the region to further the conversation on inclusion, equity, and diversity present in our service learning and community engagement work. Ms. Morales serves as the Vice President for Network Leadership for Campus Compact and will serve as the keynote speaker for the symposium.
In a collaborative gathering of faculty, nonprofit organization leaders and professionals, higher education professionals, and students, we will provide resources and best practices to deepen the quality of partnerships, develop collaborative projects and initiatives, and define the meaning of reciprocity in the community through a combination of concurrent sessions, keynote presentation, and informal networking. Join your colleagues to discover and share experiences and research that broaden and expand strategies.
